Unique party favors: a personalized song for every guest

Unique party favors: a personalized song for every guest

Every party ends the same way. The music fades, the lights come up, someone is hunting for their car keys, and the tables are left with half-empty glasses, crumpled napkins and a few favors nobody picked up. A koozie under a chair, a little candy bag next to the centerpiece. Nobody means anything by it; in the rush of goodbyes, things get left. If you're looking for unique party favors, picture a card with each guest's name on it and a song that is about them.

Unique party favors for guests with different tastes

Candles, mini jars of honey or jam, koozies, candy bags for the kids. We like them, and plenty of them get used (a koozie at a summer backyard wedding earns its keep).

But your college roommate and the second cousin you've met twice leave with an identical little bag. That's why so many people look for unique party favors or personalized party favors: something that says who the guest is.

What personalized party favors with music look like

At Musikeando we call them personalized party favors, and the idea is simple. Every guest gets a brand-new song, written just for them. The song isn't about the couple or the birthday kid. It's about the guest. It's your way of thanking them for coming, with their name, their quirks and a story only the family knows.

It works like this:

  1. You pick the type of celebration (wedding, birthday, kids' birthday, christening, first communion, baby shower, bachelorette party...), name the event, and say who the favor is from and the date.
  2. You choose a shared music style: genre, mood, and a female or male voice. If you like, you add a party context that every song will share, such as the theme or the venue.
  3. You fill in the guest list, from 5 to 200 per order: name, what they love, and whether they're a he or a she (or leave it blank). If you want, you add their age, stories or nicknames, even a music style just for them.
  4. You pay once, and the AI writes the lyrics and music. Each song takes a few minutes; you can follow the progress on a dashboard or close the page and come back later.
  5. You listen to every song before printing. Each one comes in two versions, and you keep the one you like best.
  6. You download the cards as a PDF and print them.

The card is A6 size (10.5 Γ— 14.8 cm, roughly 4.1 Γ— 5.8 inches) with the guest's name and a QR code. It says who the musical surprise is from and invites the guest to scan the code. They play the song on their phone and can download the MP3. It stays available for 360 days.

To print at home, the PDF comes on A4 paper with four cards per sheet and cut lines (on US Letter, check the print preview first). For a print shop there's an A6 version, one card per page. We don't ship anything physical. If you'd like, you can add a party photo at the top of every card.

Party favor ideas by celebration

Weddings

A wedding mixes people from every corner of your life, so that's where unique wedding favors stand out most. Grandpa's song can mention that he still owns the dance floor at every family reunion; your college friend's can bring back that road trip where everything went wrong. Since the card has the guest's name on it, it can double as a place card. And if you've already ordered mini jars of honey, you don't have to choose: the card can sit right next to them.

Kids' birthday parties

At a kids' party the card fits in the goodie bag or next to the slice of cake. For a six-year-old, hearing a song that says their name and talks about their dinosaurs is a real surprise. Don't be shocked if it's playing on repeat on the drive home.

Birthdays and party favors for adults

Party favors for adults can be tricky, since candy bags can feel a little young for a 40th. A 30th, a 50th or Grandma's 80th gives you a lot to play with: friends from high school, the Thursday pickleball crowd, the neighbor who's been there forever. You can pick a shared style, say upbeat pop, and switch it for anyone you like. If your brother-in-law only listens to country, his song can be country. For a sweet sixteen, choose birthday on the form and describe the theme in the party context.

Christenings and first communions

Lots of family, lots of kids running around. The party context handles the shared joke (the theme, or the town where the grandparents live), and each song goes its own way: the cousin who collects trading cards, the godfather who's always late. At a christening, the song can thank everyone who came to meet the baby.

Baby showers and bachelorette parties

Baby showers tend to be smaller, and you can place an order with just 5 guests. At a bachelorette party, each friend's song can bring up that one story everyone knows and nobody should repeat at the wedding.

What to tell us about each guest

The song will be as personal as what you write. You don't need polished writing; you need specific details. Here's an example:

  • Name: Uncle Ray
  • Age: 58
  • Loves: fishing and classic rock
  • For his song: he has never missed a family barbecue, and he always brings the same potato salad. Everyone calls him "Captain".

With that, the song has something to say. "A great guy" could be anyone. "Brings the same potato salad every single time" is only Ray.

A tip: split the work. Send the list to the family group chat and ask for two lines on each person.

What if a song doesn't come out right?

It's the obvious worry with thirty or fifty songs at once. The short answer: nothing gets printed until you've heard it.

Every song comes in two versions so you can pick. If you still want to change something, you get up to two free changes per song. An automatic check also reviews every set of lyrics, and if it spots a problem, or if a song fails, the song is redone for free or you get the credit back.

One more thing that helps: the QR code on the card never changes. Whichever version you pick, and whatever changes you ask for, each guest's code stays the same.

Artificial intelligence writes the lyrics and the melody; what makes the song sound like Uncle Ray is what you tell us about him.

When to order

The songs take minutes, but leave room to fill in the list (the slow part is remembering stories about fifty people), listen, ask for changes and print. The easiest time is once your guest list is final, a few weeks ahead. Using a print shop? Ask about their turnaround first. For more than 200 guests, split the list into orders of 5 to 200 guests each.

How much it costs

You pay once, before the songs are created, and pricing works in tiers. Each tier is charged at its own rate:

  • Guests 5 to 9 (minimum 5): $6.49 each
  • 10 to 19: $5.49
  • 20 to 39: $4.29
  • 40 to 59: $3.79
  • 60 and up: $3.29

For a baby shower with 5 guests, that's $32.45. For a 50-guest birthday, the math is 9 Γ— 6.49 + 10 Γ— 5.49 + 20 Γ— 4.29 + 11 Γ— 3.79 = $240.80, which works out to under $4.82 per guest. The photo on the cards is optional and costs $4.90 per order, not per card. You'll find everything on the personalized party favors page.

What every guest takes home

Candles burn down and candy is gone by the next morning, and that's fine; that's what they're for. A song with your name in it, made to thank you for coming, stays on your phone. And every time it plays, it reminds you who invited you.

Put together your list, tell us a little about each person, and let every guest leave with their own song.
